Bloggerstock: "Stop the World, I want to get off/on"

Click here for Bloggerstock
Today I am hosting the wonderful Lily from Is it too early for a martini? Along with having a great blog (where she just wrapped up her 30 days of truth, which I'm way too chicken to tackle) she's also a partner in crime for Blogging Blobs (when we both remember to post).

Girl's got good reason to want the world to slow down.  See what she has to say for herself:

~~~
Hello readers! I’m Lily from http://isittooearlyforamartini.blogspot.com. If you’re loyal reader of the Cerebral Lunchbox, then you might know about another blog: http://bloggingblobs.blogpost.com. Both Witless Exposition and I contribute to that blog. And now I’m here to take over this blog. Bloggerstock is the name of the game, and the theme this month was “Stop World, I want to get on/off!”. I want to just stop it all together.
I just turned 24 over the weekend. And sure, it’s fun or whatever… but it would be one million times better if I didn’t fell like I just turned 64.
Thanks to my erratic school and work schedule, I am never home, I never sleep, I never eat, I’m just a robot. Except, that I’m not really a robot, and I’m a human running on no energy.
I’m at school from 11 am to 7 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Also, on Saturdays from 9 am to noon. I also work part time. But that really means I can work anywhere from 3 to 8 hours on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays.
I never thought school was tiring until this semester. And it’s entirely my fault. I only had to take one class, and I decided to take a full course load. Can we say idiot? Go ahead, I give you permission.
I just want to world to stop. I need more time. I want to hang out with my friends. I want to go out with my boyfriend more often. I want to SLEEP more that 4 hours a day.
World, please stop!
If you stop enough for there to be at least an extra five hours a day, and I could hang out with people or sleep … I’ll say we’re even.
I want to thank Witless for letting me whine about not having enough time to do fun stuff. And also, I want to thank you for reading. Make sure you stop by my blog to read BooyaBobby’s post.
Bloggerstock-Spooky
End of the month, that time again: Bloggerstock!  Today I'm hosting Kelly, which I guess is fair since she hosted me last month (and they say these things are random.)  This month's topic was a pretty difficult one for everyone involved, but Kelly did a great job.  I'll shut up now and let her tell it!
~~~~

Hi there!  I'm Kelly from over at Not The Only Dreamer, and I'm gonna steal the spot light over here today for Bloggerstock!  If you don't know about Bloggerstock yet, you should sign up for next month, it's tons of fun.

The topic for this month is ghost stories, and I have a doozie.  Well, looking back on it, it actually doesnt seem like that big a deal, but I certainly remember the jolt/shiver/electric pulse that ran through my body so fast I screamed and woke up a baby.  But, I digress...

I was pretty young, it was while I was in middle school, and I was invited to stay the night at a friend's house.  This particular house that she lived in, I had actually been there many times before even though her family had just moved in.  The family that lived there before hers were close with my family, so I had been in and out of this house for years already.  I had remembered over hearing the mother of the previous family saying something under her breath one day about how she thought the house was haunted, but when I asked about it, they would quickly change the subject, probably thinking that I was too young to understand or maybe they just didn't want to scare me.  But this was a few years later, when I was invited by this new friend for a sleepover.  Her family had been living there for just a few months, but that night my friend started telling me about how she and her family had seen some weird things happen in the house, and that she thought the house was haunted.  I then told her about how I had heard that before...

She had a baby sister, who was younger than two years, and she told me that her family had heard a woman singing in the baby's room when the baby would take naps.  Her mom had also gone into the kitchen after only being out of the kitchen for less than a minute, to find all of the cabinets open (I think that also happened in a movie of some kind, so maybe that was her blowin smoke up my booty... but still... just wait).  She also told me that while watching tv at night, they had seen shadows on the wall in the light from the tv.

Anyway, late that night, my friend and I sat down in the den to watch a movie, and we popped some popcorn and turned the lights out.  About halfway through the movie, she told me that she had seen a shadow, and I had missed it, but she told me to just keep watching the wall, so I did.  A few minutes later, I saw a BIG shadow in the shape of a man's head and shoulders, and it blasted on the wall for a couple seconds.  As soon as I saw this shadow, that's when I felt the jolt run through me...  like nothing I have ever felt before.  We then decided that we wanted to see where he might be standing in the room to make a shadow that big on the wall opposite the tv, so my friend got up from the couch, and stood in front of the tv light until her shadow was about the same size on the wall as we had seen his appear.  Turns out he had to be standing RIGHT in front of our couch to make it appear like that...

Can you guess how much sleep I got that night??

Be sure to come and visit my blog to see who wrote on my blog, and maybe she'll have a good ghost story too :)

Bloggerstock: Do Over

It's time for another round of everyone's favorite blogging game: Bloggerstock!

I'd like you guys to meet That Ain't Kosher, a native New Yorker that is everything you'd expect from her name.  A "colorful" vocabulary, a dose of attitude when needed, and a wicked sense of humor.  She also has great taste in music.  I guarentee her do-over is a lot more vivid than mine, but we'll get to that later.  And now here she is:

Hey Guys,

Nugs here from over at ThatAintKosher. There’s this thing called Bloggerstock, where a bunch of us signed up to switch sites for the day because we all thought it would be hilarious if Google crashed. It turns out that none of us are that powerful. Oh, well.

Anyway, I got assigned to hijack Witless Explosion’s blog today. This sucks for her, because I’m really not that funny and some of her followers will most likely stop reading. I'm sorry. Please still put up this post.

This month’s Bloggerstock topic was “Do-Over”- if your life had a rewind button, what event would you choose to alter so that the outcome played out differently? Despite the fact that this actually forced me to engage in some deep thought, I liked this topic because it allowed me to get the creative juices flowing.

Speaking of “juices,” I know exactly which moment in my life I would pick- the relinquishment of the V-Card. No amount of time spent reading Judy Blume or watching bloody horror movies could have prepared me for that uneventful misfortune.

Due to the fact that both of us combined had all the sexual experience of a hacky sack, it lasted about twelve seconds. I remember that it kind of felt like I was being attacked from the inside by an open-mouthed water moccasin.

YIKES!

Also, I had given into the cliché of “sex on the beach,” so there was sand in pretty much every orifice of my body, not to mention under my fingernails and between my toes.

I had gone out with a group that night, so all my friends were about a hundred feet away, which left no room for any romantic encounters afterward. It was pretty much, “oh, was that it? OK, OW,” and then we walked (limped) back to the flock. Keep in mind that we were both in high school, so I wasn’t really expecting much of anything, but at least some reassurance would have been nice.

How would I have adjusted this experience to my liking?

First of all, I would have substituted my less-than-stellar partner with Sawyer from Lost. He’s used to island sex so I figure sand wouldn’t be an issue for him.

Also, I probably would have shaken the rocks and seaweed out of my hair before heading back to my girlfriends because that definitely would have made it less obvious. Maybe I would have put a couple of pillows under my ass as well. Of course it’s not like I planned this whole thing, so I actually couldn’t have done this stuff.

Anyway, that’s my “do-over” moment. To read my Bloggerstock guest post by Puneeth, head over to my blog.

Sorry for the visual, BTW.

I think we can forgive you!  After watching six seasons of lost, I think every woman I know wishes he was their first.  I never could quite put my finger on the feeling of losing the V-card, but I think the water mocassin thing is pretty dead on.

If you're interested in my regrets (wish I had figured out a way to work in Sawyer), check out my post at StarGazer's blog Not the Only Dreamer.
