Pandora's Box--Old School Edition

I think I've mentioned at some point (somewhere, too lazy to look it up) about how I have a ton of Pandora stations to fit moods. 


One of my favorite's is my Marvin Gaye station.  I've expanded it to include a lot of old Motown. It's a great station for just about anything you'd like to do. ;-)

But it's also really good for upbeat music to keep you moving.  When I'm cleaning house (like I'm about to do, once I stop using my blog as a way to procrastinate), it's great background music. 

So to help you keep at those tasks you're putting off, here's four songs from my Pandora Marvin Gaye station:

Pandora's Box--My Quick Mix

If you're unfamiliar with Pandora, shame on you!  I order you to sign up for an account right now.  After all, it's only one of the best things about the internet. 

For the uninitiated, it's a streaming radio station that you control.  You choose a band or song to style the station on, then either approve or dismiss songs based.  Eventually it tailors a station that you'll like about 80-90% of the time (it tries to introduce new artists a lot, which I love, but you might not).

So instead of my usual start of the week randomness, I'm going to post three songs from my quick mix station (exactly what it sounds like, all of your stations at once).

So in no particular order, here's the first three that played:

Jonathan Coulton "Baby Got Back"


While I would like to claim the comedic genius of putting "Baby Got Back" as the last song, it was fate, destiny, etc. Hope this brightened your day!

Frenzied Update and a New Favorite

I'm still running a bit behind on my Script Frenzy screenplay, but I think I can catch up.  (Ahh!  I just realized there's only 24 days left!  That doesn't sound like much.)

The pie chart to the right shows my progress.  Hopefully we'll be seeing more orange soon.

While procrastinating yesterday, I was listening to Pandora.  If you haven't been turned on to this yet, prepare to be obsessed. (See my ramblings about Pandora and other great Droid apps here.)

After seeing him in concert a couple of months ago, I created a Frank Turner station. 

One of my favorite songs by Frank is embedded below.  Keep in mind that its NSFW and a bit confusing for non-Brits like myself.  (I did a lot of googling on Thatcher after hearing this one)



God bless Pandora, because of my Frank Turner station, I got turned on to The Wind Whistles.  They're a two person Canadian folky-indie group (Think similar to The Mouldy Peaches).  I completely fell in love with "Good Friends Won't Rip You Off."
